In Depth Analysis | MOJO Magazine Adverts
The first magazine advert that I analysed was by 'The Killers'. Right away as I looked at the advert it caught my eye because of the soft yet bright color scheme used which I think is a very clever way of attracting an audience. It's key not to use bright and bold colors, which can sometimes get too much for the eyes to look at; but to use a soft yet bright color scheme as so. This cover looks extremely aesthetically pleasing which is a very positive thing as you don't want your adverts to be just informational but also nice to look at. In terms of text they have used a very Hollywood like font for the title (in relation to Hollywood mirrors) and then an a simple italic text for the name of the song. Since it's a modern day advert they have also located the places where the album can be purchased or is available (hmv online/ virgin)

This is advert for an album from a band does not exist anymore, as they are advertising for their 50th anniversary album edition. We can clearly see the difference in the way that the pictures on the cover are represented. In the olden days bands tended to have their own faces on the covers and then they placed around with editing and background effects as portrayed. It's a very odd picture to look at as it's quite blurred yet in focus at the same time; showing the members of the band in a 'fantasy world', which is very unconventional. The album cover is the same as the CD cover so people recognize it in the shops. There is no social media information given on the advert. In terms of colors, they're very vibrant and pop more because of the black background, but they contradict to the colors in the image. The font is sans serif and in white so it does not create too much distraction. The audience is probably middle aged people or old men because of how old the band is.
